WALKING IN THE LIGHT
1 John 1:5 - 10 Hebrew Word: רוֹא Or (Light) In 1 John 1:5-10, the Apostle John describes God as light, in whom there is no darkness. The Hebrew word "or" captures the idea of light, but it is not merely physical illumination. "Or" symbolizes purity, truth, and the divine presence of God. Walking in the light means living in the truth, free from the shadows of sin and deceit. It’s a call to live in transparency before God and others, allowing His light to expose anything that might hinder our relationship with Him. God’s light brings clarity, revealing what is hidden and offering a path forward in righteousness. When we confess our sins, His light cleanses us and restores fellowship. Walking in the light is not just about avoiding sin but actively pursuing a life of holiness, guided by the truth of God’s Word. It is an invitation to step into the fullness of life that He offers. The hidden treasure in "or" is its power to not only expose but to heal and restore. Light is not just about revealing the darkness; it is about bringing life and clarity. The treasure here is understanding that walking in God’s "or" doesn’t just reveal where we fall short—it also provides the pathway to healing, forgiveness, and transformation. God’s light is gentle, inviting us to step out of hiding and into His grace. As we walk in the light, we experience the fullness of His truth and are empowered to live in freedom. His light purifies, restores, and leads us into deeper fellowship with Him. Reflection: Are there areas in your life where you are hiding in the shadows, avoiding God’s light? How can you invite His "or" into those areas to bring healing and restoration? Action Step: Today, spend time reflecting on 1 John 1:5-10. Ask God to reveal any areas of darkness in your life that need to be brought into the light. Confess those areas to Him, and allow His "or" to cleanse and restore you to right fellowship with Him.
